Profile of Department:

            The Department of Political Science of Swami Yogananda Giri College, Saktiashram was established from the very beginning of the establishment of the college which was established in the month of June 1994 with a view to foster and rapid development of the knowledge of Political Science among the aspirant students of the western Part of kokrajhar district in general and saktiashram area in particular the department had been established in the institution. In the year 1998, the department got affiliation from Gauhati University and Concurrence from Government of Assam in the year 2005. From the academic year 2002-2003 the department provided major course in Political science and since then it produced number of graduates in political science.  

Programme/course offered:     

At present the department offers B.A regular course in political science and B.A Honours course in political science under choice based credit system (CBCS) of Bodoland University, Kokrajhar comprising six semester.

There are only three (03) faculty members in the department of political science.

            Apart from the main library of Swami Yogananda Giri College the department political science also has a mini library with only 100 books.
