Profile of the Department:

Swami Yogananda Giri College established in 30^th June 1994, which is located at saktiashram of Kokrajhar district western part of assam. With a view to foster and rapid development of the knowledge of education among the aspirant students of the western part of Kokrajhar district in general and saktiashram area in particular the department have been established in the year 2000 in the institution. The department got permission and affiliation from Gauhati University and first govt. concurrence from govt. of assam in the year 2008. From establishment of the department offered only Regular course in under graduate programme. Presently the affiliation of the college transfered to Bodoland University from Gauhati University.

Programme/ Course offered:

At present the department offers B.A. Regular Course in Education under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) of Bodoland University, Kokrajhar comprising of Six Semesters.

There are only Two (02) Faculty members in the Department of Education.

Apart from the main library of Swami Yogananda Giri College of the department of education has also a mini library with 200 books.
